Reka River

Reka River

The Reka (in Slovene) or Timavo (in Italian) is a river that flows through Western Slovenia and North-Eastern Italy. The river is 51 km in length. At the village of Škocjan it disappears underground through the Škocjan Caves (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), flowing 38km underneath the Slovenian Kras. It then resurges as the Italian river Timavo. After only 2km it ends in a canal of the Monfalcone harbour (in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy).
