Ambleside railway station was located about 43.5km by railway from Adelaide Railway Station, on the Adelaide-Melbourne line. It was located in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Balhannah. The year in which the station closed is not known, possibly in the 1960's.Fact|date=May 2008
History
Ambleside was opened in November 1883Fact|date=May 2008, and was located just north of Ambleside Road, which may explain how the station was named. The station consisted of a ticket office, and a large shelter, similar to the one at Balhannah.Fact|date=May 2008 The station was probably redeveloped sometime between the 1930's-1950's, which included the removal of the original platform.
Closure
The location of the station was a bad oneFact|date=May 2008, which led to its closure in the 1960's when country passenger services ceased.Fact|date=May 2008 There is no evidence of the station left, as a project to raise the railway track to nearly completely hide the station platform was started in the late 1960's-70'sFact|date=May 2008, and the shelter and station signs were removed in the 1980's-early 90's.Fact|date=May 2008
