Major Major are a four piece Indie rock band from Liverpool [http://www.majormajor.co.uk/] [http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool/content/articles/2007/08/29/unsigned50_sep07_majormajor_feature.shtml] . Major Major consist of Conor Clarke (vocals and guitar), Neil Owen (Lead Guitar and backing vocals), Louis Cooper (bass and backing vocals), and Liam Dobie (drums). On 4 January 2008, Major Major became the first band to perform at the Liverpool Echo Arena where they supported The Farm (band) in front of 4000 Liverpool 08 Ambassadors for European Capital of Culture 2008.

The group reached the final of Now That's What We Call Culture on 8 August 2008, which was held at the Liverpool Echo Arena in front of an audience of 6000 people. The band reached the final after impressing those judges who saw them in the two days heats including Phil Redmond and Jennifer Ellison.

Major Major became the first confirmed act for the Glastonbury Festival 2009 after storming through the heats and winning the final of the Rockstar 08 unsigned competition on 5 September 2008 after performing a blistering set which astounded all those who were there. [http://efestivals.co.uk/news/080908c.shtml] The competition was backed by the Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis and Peter Gabriel. As winners of the competition they also played a live set at the Pilton Equinox Party on Friday 19 September where they supported Franz Ferdinand and the Ting Tings.
