Simpson Crags

Simpson Crags (coord|74|24|S|162|45|E|) is a series of rugged crags descending southeast from Mount Baxter of the Eisenhower Range and forming the south wall of O'Kane Glacier, in Victoria Land. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1955-63. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Lieutenant Commander William A. Simpson, Jr., U.S. Navy, aircraft commander with Squadron VX-6 during U.S. Navy Operation Deepfreeze 1967.
