Duties
The CCSO is responsible for the protection of life and property, enforcing orders of the court, and maintaining the detention facility for Cecil County, Maryland.
Organization
The current sheriff is Barry A. Janney Sr. The agency is divided into several sections [ [http://www.cecilcountysheriff.org/PROGS/index.htm Cecil County Sheriff's Office ] ] :
*Law Enforcement- consists of (but not limited to) patrol, criminal investigations division (CID), K-9, SRT (SWAT), School Resource Officers, Police Communications, and Records.
*Corrections- consists of housing, controlling, and transportation of inmates
