Edward Joseph McGah (
September 30 ,1921 -September 30 ,2002 ) was a reservecatcher inMajor League Baseball who played from 1946 to 1947 for theBoston Red Sox . Listed at 6' 0", 183 lb., McGah batted and threwright-handed . He was born inOakland, California .McGah was a member of the Red Sox team that won the 1946
American League championship title, though he did not play during the postseason. In part of two seasons with Boston, he was a .157 hitter (8-for-51) with three runs, one double, one triple, and four RBI in 24 games. He did not hit anyhome run s. In 21 catching appearances, he committed two errors in 81 chances for a .975fielding percentage . He also was a minority owner of the AFL-NFLOakland Raiders from 1959 to 2002.McGah died in his hometown of Oakland, California, the day of his 81th birthday.
