Urban Contemporary upon the sale of KKST from Clear Channel Communications in 2006. That agreement ended when Cenla bought four radio stations from Clear Channel, as this would put Cenla Communications over FCC rules on the number of stations under ownership or control in a market (Local area) the size of Alexandria. Not wanting to loose the number 1 station's format [cite web|url=http://www.radioandrecords.com/RRRatings/DetailsPage.aspx?MID=6&RY=2005&RQ=2&MP=0&OTHER=2&MN=Alexandria&MS=LA&MR=224&12P=157100&UP=8/2/2005%2012:00:00%20AM&SU=C&BPER=27.4&HPER=&OPER=&NSD=&CE=0|title= KEDG kiss 106.9 ratings 2005] , Cenla promptly removedAdult Contemporary "Star 98.7" and installed the "Kiss 98.7" in its place. The "Star" name and format was later picked up by
