Etters is simply the name of the post office in Goldsboro. The USPS even says that the name Goldsboro is not acceptable for sending mail, and to use Etters (ZIP 17319).

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 939 people, 333 households, and 260 families residing in the borough. Thepopulation density was 2,306.3 people per square mile (884.3/km²). There were 365 housing units at an average density of 896.5/sq mi (343.7/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 98.51% White, 0.21% Native American, 0.53% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, and 0.64% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.64% of the population.There were 333 households out of which 46.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.6% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.9% were non-families. 17.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.24.
In the borough the population was spread out with 32.2% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 40.4% from 25 to 44, 15.9% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 103.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.9 males.
The median income for a household in the borough was $57,054, and the median income for a family was $60,455. Males had a median income of $40,250 versus $31,146 for females. The
