Swanport Bridge

Swanport Bridge is a bridge on Highway 1 in South Australia. Constructed in 1979, the bridge supports the communities of Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend. It spans over the Murray River. [ [http://www.slsa.sa.gov.au/murray/content/riverAsHighway/crossingIntro.htm introduction ] ]

Characteristics

The bridge itself is one kilometer in length with two lanes, one for each direction of traffic. It is constructed from prestressed concrete. It serves as a link between the South Eastern Freeway and the Princes Highway, and as such is an integral part of the Adelaide-Melbourne transport corridor.
