- Libyan Sea
The Libyan Sea is a portion of the
Mediterranean Sea situated north of the country ofLibya and generally southerly of the island ofCrete . Appleton and Co.] This designation was used by ancient geographers describing the southern Mediterranean, but the term is also used by modern travel writers and cartographers.
