CBBS-FM is a Canadian radio station. It broadcasts the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's CBC Radio Two network at 90.1 FM in Sudbury, Ontario.

The station was originally licensed by the CRTC in 1984. [ [http://www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Decisions/1984/DB84-906.HTM CRTC Decision 84-906] ] However, due to financial constraints at the CBC, the station was never launched, and the CBC was forced in 1991 to surrender all of its non-operating licenses.

The CBC subsequently applied for a new license, which was awarded in 2000 [ [http://www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Decisions/2000/DB2000-195.htm CRTC Decision 2000-195] ] , and the station launched in the spring of 2001. The network's "Take Five", hosted by Shelley Solmes, broadcast from the Art Gallery of Sudbury the day of the station's launch.

Transmitters

As of 2008, the station only broadcasts in Sudbury. In the CBC's expansion plan, however, the station will eventually add rebroadcasters in Elliot Lake, Iron Bridge, Kapuskasing, Little Current, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Temiskaming Shores, Timmins and Wawa. [ [http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/GENERAL/cbc_lrrp.htm CBC Long Range Expansion Plan] ]
