- Several tongue-in-cheek references are made to other media; notably, the reference to a "Lazlar Lyricon" custom spaceship design, which is a direct reference to the television series version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the Cobra Mk-III, which is a direct reference to Elite. In the closing minute, the page for Flight Commander P.R. Johnson to contact the intergalactic operator was a reference to RAH Band's hit song, "Clouds Across the Moon".
- Geffory Vantage is a mock of Jeremy Clarkson
