The Glasgow and Milngavie Junction Railway was a Scottish railway. It extended the

The line was authorised on
1 August 1861 in an act obtained by the Glasgow, Dumbarton and Helensburgh Railway; and it opened in 1863. Awdry (1990), Page 132, gives the date of opening as21 May 1863 .] Thomas (1971), Page 205, gives the date of opening as28 August 1863 .] It was operated from the start by theNorth British Railway (NBR); and was absorbed into the NBR by anAct of Parliament dated28 July 1873 .Current operations
Passenger services currently operate as part of the
Argyle Line andNorth Clyde Line services. The spurs to the goods depots at Burnbrae Dye Works and Ellangowan Mills are closed.Connections to other lines
