His number of issued USA patents is 515 USA Patents [1]. Forbes magazine and USA today have cited Gardner's achievements [2]. His past and current inventions are focused upon consumer electronics, energy, computers, semiconductors, integrated circuits, physics and educational devices. In 2007 he started a corporation called Stellar Devices Inc. [3] to continue his passion for innovation/patents and inventions. Gardner attended Andover High School in Andover,Massachusetts and met his first physics teacher Dr. Wilkinson who inspired him to develop a passion in physics. From 1973-1977 Gardner attended the University of Lowell, Lowell, MA (now the University of Massachusetts, Lowell campus),[4] and graduated cum-laude BS Physics. Next Gardner obtained his Master Degree in Physics from the University of Maryland, College Park.Maryland in 1980 [5]. Gardner also has held positions at Advanced Micro Devices from 1981-2005 and Texas Instruments from 1980-1981 in the field of microelectronics, semiconductors, transistors, memory cells, integrated circuits, device fabrication, process development, and device engineering. During his career as an engineer, inventor, physicist he has obtained 515 issued United States Patents and is considered to be a prolific inventor. This achievement has resulted in recognition of one of the top living inventors in the world. In the year 2000 Gardner was awarded over 160 issued patents in one year which is a record for the most inventions for a United States Citizen for a one year period [6]. He currently is a part time professor of physics at Austin Community College[7]. He also is active in teaching advanced mathematics and physics online [8] and locally at several schools, including Covenant Christian School in Bastrop, Tx. [9]. A partial list of his inventions can be found at the United States Patent and Trademark office [10].
