Shakopee Bridge

The Shakopee Bridge is a 4-lane vehicular bridge crossing the Minnesota River between Chanhassen and downtown Shakopee. The southern terminus of the southern section of State Hwy. 101 ends at the bridge and becomes the northern terminus of Scott County Road 101, intersecting with Scott County Road 69 at the southern end of the bridge. This bridge opened in 1993, 1 city block downstream from a 2-lane bridge it replaced.

The old 2-lane bridge remains in place as a pedestrian/bicycle bridge. It is locally known as the Holmes Street bridge.

Flooding

This bridge is occasionally closed due to flooding north of the bridge. A sign north of the bridge displays the high-water marks of the 1965 and 1993 floods along the Minnesota River.
