Tropical Storm Ana

The name Ana has been used for five tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of three names that has been used for five storms in which none of them reached hurricane strength. There were several tropical cyclones with the similar name of Anna.

*1979's Tropical Storm Ana - formed east of the Lesser Antilles, crossed Leeward Islands, caused no damage or casualties.
*1985's Tropical Storm Ana - rounded Bermuda, neared Newfoundland but dissipated before striking.
*1991's Tropical Storm Ana - travelled parallel off the East Coast of the United States, caused no damage or casualties.
*1997's Tropical Storm Ana - wobbled off the Carolinas, threatened no land.
*2003's Tropical Storm Ana - the first recorded Atlantic storm to form in April, threatened no land.

The next time that the name 'Ana' will be used is in 2009.
