According to the
United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 32.3square mile s (83.6km² ), of which, 32.2 square miles (83.4 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (0.19%) is water.Albany Township is bordered by Monroe Township to the northwest, Asylum Township to the northeast, Terry and Wilmot Townships to the east, Sullivan County to the south and Overton Township to the southwest.
Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 927 people, 362 households, and 276 families residing in the township. Thepopulation density was 28.8 people per square mile (11.1/km²). There were 495 housing units at an average density of 15.4/sq mi (5.9/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.52% White, 1.08% Native American, 0.11% Asian, and 1.29% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.32% of the population.There were 362 households out of which 34.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.1% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.5% were non-families. 20.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 2.92.
In the township the population was spread out with 25.9% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 27.3% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 106.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.5 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $36,932, and the median income for a family was $37,250. Males had a median income of $29,271 versus $21,838 for females. The
