United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 41.8square mile s (108.4km² ), of which, 41.8 square miles (108.3 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.12%) is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,800 people, 658 households, and 517 families residing in the township. Thepopulation density was 43.1 people per square mile (16.6/km²). There were 719 housing units at an average density of 17.2/sq mi (6.6/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 99.61% White, 0.22% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 0.11% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.39% of the population.There were 658 households out of which 33.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.0% were married couples living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.4% were non-families. 17.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 3.12.
In the township the population was spread out with 25.3% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 26.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 99.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.5 males.
