He is well-known in the Shia community and is considered the best Noha Khwaan (Noha reciter) of present because of his unique style of recitation.[1] He rose to fame in the 1980s when his Nohas gained popularity overseas. Since then he has recited several Nohas all over the world wherever a Shia population exists. He has also released recorded collections of 7 to 10 Nohas every year since 1980 and has published many books of his Nohas.[2] He has hitherto released 30 albums of Nauha Cassette and CDs from 1980 - 2010. Though he mostly recites in Urdu, he has also recited in languages such as Sindhi, Sariki, Punjabi, Pushto, Pourbi, Hindi, Gujarati, Persian, Arabic, English, and French. He is very popular among the youth with many copying his style to be similarly popular and some of them have seen success. His collections of Nohas are very popular during the Islamic month of Muharram when his Nohas are listened to and recited by many. He has collaborated several times with the famous Pakistani Poet Rehan Azmi. Most of the Nohas recited by him are "Kalaam" of Rehan Azmi. The Rehan-Sarwar duo have been very successful and famous in their collaborations. He also has been successful in using Kalaams of other famous poets like Mir Anis and Mirza Dabeer.

Early life
Nadeem Sarwar was born in Karachi, Pakistan, the son of Syed Asrar Hussain Rizvi and Syeda Nargis Khatoon.[3] He started Noha recitation at the age of four when his mother taught him the art. He dedicated himself to Noha Khwaani (the act of reciting a Noha) at the age of eight. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and studied Commercial Designing, Fine Arts and Interior Designing. He won many championships in Table Tennis and Badminton in Inter School tournaments and has interests in Cricket and Badminton.He also played many games as well as cricket.[4]
