- The Washington English Center
The Washington English Center (WEC) is a non-profit organization focusing on the language barrier between immigrants and American citizens. The WEC is an English training organization that offers programs to teach international students from all nationalities and backgrounds. The charitable organization mainly focuses on programs covering both written and verbal English. The center has also developed "profession preparation" classes, assisting foreign born students in their careers. The Center has built strong relationships with other local, as well as national organizations including [http://www.nih.gov NIH] [http://www.nih.gov (National Institutes of Health)] and the [http://www.IADB.org IADB] [http://www.IADB.org (Interamerican Development Bank)] to achieve their goal of English fluency throughout the United States.
