The History of a Drowning Boy
- The History of a Drowning Boy
The History of a Drowning Boy is the title of the autobiography of Scottish serial killer, Dennis Nilsen.
Written over a six year period, the book has never been published as the Home Secretary and HM Prison Service have witheld the manuscript from Nilsen after it was returned to him by post from his solicitor. In November 2004, Nilsen sought Judicial Review of the prison governor's decision but was unsuccessful. Supporters of Nilsen in the case included the writer Steve Taylor who supported his case on the basis that it was in the public interest that the book be published. Nilsen is currently appealing to the European Court of Human Rights.
