Stourbridge College

Stourbridge College

Stourbridge College is a further education college situated in Stourbridge, West Midlands, England.

The main campus, built during the 1970s, is situated south of the town centre on Hagley Road. A second campus opened in 1990 within the buildings of Longlands School on Greenfield Avenue, after that school closed to merge with High Park School to form Ridgewood High School.

A third campus opened later in the 1990s when the college co-operated with the ATC plumbing trainee scheme to open a learning centre on the Waterfront at Merry Hill, some four miles away in Brierley Hill.

In 2007, plans were unveiled for Stourbridge College to merge with Dudley College.

History

The college was formed in 1958 as Foley College of Further Education and College of Art through the merger of the Stourbridge College of Art (founded in 1848) and the Stourbridge Technical School (founded in 1891). It was renamed Stourbridge College of Technology and Art in 1979, and adopted its current name in 1991.
