Borovo (Serbian Cyrillic: Борово), previously called Borovo Selo (Борово Село), is a village and a municipality in eastern Slavonia (Vukovar-Srijem County), Croatia. It has a population of 5,360 (2001), the majority of the population being Serbian (86.56%).

Geography

The village of Borovo is located a few kilometers north from Vukovar, and the neighbourhood of the northwestern industrial part of Vukovar, Borovo Naselje (the Borovo settlement), which is named after it.

History

In 1991, Borovo was briefly in the spotlight as the site of the Borovo Selo killings.
