He has worked for many comic publishers including Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Penny-Farthing Press, Malibu Comics, and Acclaim Comics.

Career

Bob Almond discovered comics by age nine. In his early teen years, Almond with his friends and brother Mike began drawing comics under the independent title "Torpedo Comics." He majored in illustration at the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth and graduated in 1990 with a BFA in Illustration. His first break into the comic book publishing business came thanks to artists Bernie Wrightson and Jim Starlin. In 1991, through attending Wrightson's annual Halloween party, Almond met Starlin. Starlin convinced his editor at Marvel Comics to hire Almond as Terry Austin's replacement on Warlock and the Infinity Watch. In addition to Marvel Comics, Almond has also worked for DC Comics, Penny-Farthing Press, Malibu Comics, Acclaim Comics, and other publishers. In an effort to bring more attention to the craft of inking and its history and artists Bob began his regular column "Inkblots" in the pages of [http://www.bluelinepro.com/sketch.htm SKETCH magazine] from Blue Line Pro in 2007. ["Sketch Magazine: 'Inkblots'" #30-34 (Blue Line Pro, 2007-2008)] He has also acted in an unofficial capacity assisting Comics Buyer's Guide as a resource for identifying and crediting ink artists since 2006.
