Robert Peter Kraushaar (born February 1962,
Ilford ,Essex ) is an Englishpop music record producer specializing in mixing. Kraushaar has mixed and produced commercially successful songs and albums for numerous British and international artists.Bob Kraushaar's first industry appointment was as runner forTrevor Horn . He graduated to tape-opping at Marcus Studios but moved back to the famous SARM Studios when they expanded and equipped with SSLs. His first chart success came withJohnny Hates Jazz and he was soon known as a mixing specialist having made his mark with ZTT artists such asPropaganda andArt of Noise . SARM's associatedZTT label was outputting 12-inch singles requiring B-sides and alternative versions and these were mixed by Kraushaar. He went on to work withPaul McCartney ,Erasure and perhaps his most regular client,Pet Shop Boys .His first UK #1 chart credit for production, recording and mixing was with artists
Marc Almond andGene Pitney 's duet, "Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart " for Parlophone in 1989.As well as mixing an album for
Mediaeval Baebes , Kraushaar has mixed aLiberty X single (featuringRun DMC ) and tracks forErasure 's Andy Bell,The Cinematics (withStephen Hague , influential figure in thesynthpop movement), Onetwo, a collaboration betweenClaudia Brücken (formerly ofPropaganda ) andPaul Humphreys (ofOrchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark &The Listening Pool ) formed 2004, andAnother Language comprising Brücken and composer and musicianAndrew Poppy .As NorthxNWest, a collaboration with Chuck Norman, Kraushaar's remixes and productions are featured on
Dame Shirley Bassey 's album "Get The Party Started" released 25th June 2007. This album entered the charts at #6 in the UK. The single "Get the party started" was produced by Catherine Feeney, Nikki Lamborn (Never The Bride), Bob Kraushaar and Chuck Norman with backing vocals by Rietta Austin, Margo Buchanan, Nikki Lamborn and Catherine Feeney. The music video was produced by Hera King and directed by Harvey and Carolyn (Crossroads Films).In 2008, Kraushaar achieved chart success mixing Cologne based dance trio
Blank & Jones . After only one year of existence with their new independent labelSoundcolours , Blank & Jones entered the official German sales charts at no.42 with their album "The Logic of Pleasure" which also included collaboration withBernard Sumner ofNew Order .External Sources
