Société des chemins de fer du Québec

The Société des chemins de fer du Québec (SCFQ), or Quebec Railway Corporation in English, is a Canadian railway holding company which owns several short line railways in the provinces of Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

SCFQ is jointly owned by Groupe Jean Fournier Incorporated and a group of private investors. It was formed in 1993 following the purchase of Canadian National Railway's Murray Bay subdivision, running east from Quebec City.

Since then it has also purchased, and now operates, several other railways, including:

* Chemin de fer Charlevoix Reporting marks|CFC (former CN Murray Bay Subdivision, operates between Quebec City to Clermont, Quebec)

* Chemin de fer Baie des Chaleurs Reporting marks|CFBC (marks shared with Carbon County Railway) (former CN Cascapedia and Chandler Subdivisions, operates between Matapédia, Quebec and Chandler, Quebec on the Gaspé Peninsula). This company also operates the Chemin de fer de la Gaspésie, owned by local municipalities which owns the eastern end of the Chandler Subdivision from Chandler to Gaspé, Quebec, which had been owned by CFBC until the early 2000s.

* Chemin de fer de Matapédia et du Golfe Reporting marks|CFMG (former CN Mont Joli and Matane Subdivisions, operates between Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec and Campbellton, New Brunswick and from Mont-Joli, Quebec to Matane, Quebec, as well as a rail ferry and trackage in Baie-Comeau, Quebec)

* New Brunswick East Coast Railway Reporting marks|NBEC (former CN Newcastle, Nepisiguit and Dalhousie Subdivisions, operates between Campbellton, New Brunswick and Pacific Junction, New Brunswick, near Moncton, New Brunswick)

* Ottawa Central Railway Reporting marks|OCRR (former CN Subdivisions, operates between Ottawa Ontario and Pembroke, Ontario in the Ottawa Valley)

* Ontario L'Orignal Railway [http://www.angelfire.com/mi/warrenhiltz/olo.html] Reporting marks|OLO (former CN Subdivisions, operates between Hawkesbury, Ontario and Glen Robertson, Ontario, was created in 1996 by RailLink, later became a RailTex and RailAmerica company, the line was purchased by SCFQ in 2000)

* Sydney Coal Railway Reporting marks|SCR (former Devco Railway Reporting marks|DVR, operates between Sydney, Nova Scotia and New Waterford, Nova Scotia and Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on Cape Breton Island, railway trackage is owned by Nova Scotia Power Corporation, operation is subcontracted to SCFQ)
