(2003)"BBC Sessions" (1999) is a blues oriented rock album by
Rory Gallagher . The album was compiled from live recordings made at the BBC. It was compiled by Rory's brother Donal and relased posthumously. Background
From the earliest stages of Rory's musical odyssey, the BBC played an important part in shaping his musicianship. From refusing to go outside because of the Saturday Club and rushing home for four o'clock programme which dedicated half an hour to a different group each week. He considered these tests to see how much a band would deviate from their recordings. To an artist who opposed releasing singles, these sessions proved invaluable to allowing his music reach new fans.
