Mountains of Slovenia are part of the
Alps and of Dinarides. They can be divided into:*
Julian Alps (Slovenian: "Julijske Alpe") in the northwestern part of Slovenia. The highest peak isTriglav - 2864 metres (9,396 feet) above seahttp://www.hribi.net/seznamgora.asp?lng=1 Mountains of Slovenia - Hribi.net] .
*Karavanke - a massive ridge that forms a natural boundary between Slovenia andAustria . The highest peak is Stol - 2,236 m ((7,336 feet).
*Kamnik Alps ("Kamniške Alpe") and Savinja Alps, which are often considered together, lie to the south ofKaravanke . The highest peak isGrintovec - 2,558 m (8,392 feet) above sea.In the
Slovenian Littoral , the highest peak isSnežnik (1796 m) and Nanos (1480 m).In the southeast, nearBela krajina there is a mountain ridge calledGorjanci and in the Maritime regionSlavnik (1018 m).External links
