United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 1.2square mile s (3.1km² ), of which, 1.2 square miles (3.1 km²) of it is land and 0.83% is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 915 people, 232 households, and 145 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 764.1 people per square mile (294.4/km²). There were 277 housing units at an average density of 231.3/sq mi (89.1/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 90.82% White, 4.04% African American, 1.09% Native American, 2.08% Asian, 0.22% from other races, and 1.75% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.87% of the population.There were 232 households out of which 35.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.8% were married couples living together, 22.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.5% were non-families. 26.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.82.
In the village the population was spread out with 15.8% under the age of 18, 53.3% from 18 to 24, 15.6% from 25 to 44, 10.8% from 45 to 64, and 4.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 21 years. For every 100 females there were 97.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.4 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $16,932, and the median income for a family was $29,167. Males had a median income of $25,139 versus $24,583 for females. The
