Dobbs Ferry High School is a small
coeducation al publichigh school in the quiet hamlet ofDobbs Ferry, New York , tucked in the valley of the Hudson River about 20 miles north ofNew York City . The sole high school in the Dobbs Ferry Union FreeSchool District , it is accredited by theUniversity of the State of New York and the Commission on Secondary Schools of theMiddle States Association of Colleges and Schools . As of 2006 it enrolled about 400 students in grades 9-12.Dobbs Ferry is known for its successful
high school football program. The Eagles were named New York State's Small School "Team of the Decade" for the 1980s. The inspirational play of Bill Behuniak in the late 90s drove a resurgence of the program, and since 2000, Dobbs Ferry has won seven sectional titles, appeared in six state championship games, and won three titles (2002, 2004 and 2006), and achieved a 46-game regular season winning streak.Additionally, the high school is home to the reigning New York State
Destination ImagiNation Improvisational theatre team. They have won the New York State DI Tournament since 2004, and have advanced to the DI Global Finals each year, where they have consistently placed in the top 15 places out of 60 in the world. In 2005, they finished 6th.Reference
