Concerts on the Square

The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, led by Maestro Andrew Sewell, is a vibrant and thriving professional orchestra dedicated to connecting its audiences to the power of music. The WCO performs approximately 25 concerts per year, including Concerts on the Square®, Masterworks, Holiday Pops, Handel's Messiah, Youth Concerts, and other performances across the state. With a core orchestra of 34 musicians, an established $10 million endowment, and a permanent home in Overture Center for the Arts magnificent Capitol Theater, WCO is one of the finest chamber orchestras in the country.

The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra's Concerts on the Square is an outdoor concert series in Madison held on the lawn of the Wisconsin State Capitol each summer. The series consists of six concerts on Wednesday evenings. 2011 will be its 28th season, with concerts from June 29 - July 30, at 7:00 p.m.

The 2011 Concerts on the Square

Young at Heart (Wednesday, June 29, 2011) will feature pianist Amy Hua, Winner of the 2011 Young Artist Concerto Competition, and the Madison Ballet.

A Down Home 4th of July (Wednesday, July 6, 2011) will feature the Above the Town bluegrass band.

Film Noir Classics (Wednesday, July 13, 2011) will include many pieces from film score classics and will feature Guest Conductor, Huw Edwards.

Arrival ABBA (Wednesday, July 20, 2011) will feature Arrival, ABBA tribute band.

American Heroes (Wednesday, July 27, 2011) will feature soprano Susanna Phillips.

España! (Wednesday, August 3, 2011) will feature violinist Suzanne Beia.
