He helped the Yankees to win the World Series in 1932, 1936-39, 1941, 1943 and 1947 and the American League Pennant in 1942.Crosetti was born in
San Francisco, California . In his career he played in 1,683 Games, had 1,006 Runs, 1,541 Hits, 792 Walks, a .245batting average , 98home run s, 649 RBIs, 113stolen base s, .341 On-base percentage, .354 Slugging Percentage, 2225total bases , 260 doubles, and 65 triples in 6277at bat s and 90 Sacrifice Hits. He led the American League in Strikeouts (105) in 1937. He led theAmerican League in Games (157), Strikeouts (97) and Stolen Bases in (27) in 1938, and led the league in hit by pitches 8 times in his career. He also led the American League in At Bats (656) in 1939. He ended his career with an amazing total of 114 hit by pitches (tied for 39th all-time, withBill Freehan ). It still stands as the New York Yankees career record. He was also a two-time All-Star (by|1936, by|1939). He later became a coach with the Yankees (1947-68),Seattle Pilots (1969) andMinnesota Twins (1970-71). He died at age 91 inStockton, California .Crosetti is the answer to a popular baseball trivia question: "Who has collected the most World Series checks in the history of baseball?" As a player and third base coach for the Yankees, Crosetti was part of 17 World Championship teams.
