Paolo Cirino Pomicino (born on
3 September 1939 inNapoli ) is an Italianpolitician , and was elected to theItalian Chamber of Deputies in the 2006 General election repesenting theChristian Democracy for the Autonomies .Previously he was a
Member of the European Parliament for the Southern region, elected on thePopular Alliance-UDEUR ticket. He sat on theEuropean Parliament 'sCommittee on Economic and Monetary Affairs , and was a member of the Delegation to theEU -Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan and EU-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committees, and for relations with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia and a substitute for the Delegation for relations with theMaghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union (includingLibya ).He has been convicted for illegal financing (sentenced to 1 year and 8 months) and he negotiated (thereby admitting guilt) 2 months for corruption and hidden funds.
