Evolution & Development is the leading scientific journal of evolutionary developmental biology. It was founded in 1999 by five biologists: Wallace Arthur, Sean B. Carroll, Michael Coates, Rudolf Raff and Gregory Wray. These five continue to serve as editors [cite web |url=http://www.blackwellpublishing.com/editors.asp?ref=1520-541X&site=1|title=Evolution & Development - Editorial Contacts] , and have been joined by a sixth editor, Vivian Irish. Evolution & Development aims to serve as a voice for the rapidly growing research community at the interface of evolutionary and developmental biology, crossing the boundaries between disciplines such as Evolution, Developmental biology, Molecular biology, Genetics, Paleontology, Population biology, and Mathematics.
