Giannitsochori, Gianitsochori, Giannitsohori or Gianitsohori ( _el. Γιαννιτσοχώρι), older forms: -on is a village located in the municipality of
Zacharo to its east southeast in the southern part of theprefecture of Ilia . Giannitsochori is accessed with a road linking to GR-9/E55 (Pyrgos - Kyparissia). Giannitsochori is famous for its beaches and also have hotels and campgrounds including "Apollo". It is located about 45 km ESE of Pyrgos, about 30 km S of Olympia, about 20 km N ofKyparissia and 15 km north of GR-9A. TheGulf of Kyparissia which is part of theIonian Sea is to its west. On Sunday April 17, 2005, a dead whale washed up to its beaches near Giannitsochori. The length is between 4 and 5 m. A few people were behind the scene telling them including the reporters what happened in Giannitsochori Beach. It happened in the early to mid part of the day. The dead whale was positioned at approximately at 40 to 45° at the shoreline and as far as 2 m inland.

Giannitsochori has a small kindergarten school, a school, a church and a square ("
plateia ").The entire population prior to the late-20th century were entirely rural and were also farmers. Today, they still form a part of the population of the settlement while tourism is also the main industry. Pavement and electricity were cut off until the mid to late 20th century.
