Early life
Justin was the youngest in a working class family,Fact|date=August 2008 and cites his parents as one of his inspirations. They opened the first vegetarian restaurant in Pittsburgh,Fact|date=August 2008 inspiring Justin to become a

In 1996 they released their first album “Die for the Government ." Later that year Andy Flag left the band as a result of personal disputes. Various band members came and went during '97 and '98, after which they finally settled on a permanent line-up consisting of Justin Sane as Guitarist/vocalist,Pat Thetic as the drummer, Chris Head as lead Guitarist/backing vocals, and finally Chris Barker (aka #2) as the bassist/second vocalist. Justin graduated from The Oakland School in

When Justin does not play in Anti-Flag, he works on his own solo projects, such as "Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Justice" released in 2003, as well as a 6 track EP "These are the Days.", released in 2001. In his solo project he diverts his focus to love, family, and more everyday concepts, rather than the politically charged stance of Anti-Flag.
