Its seat is the town of Woźniki, which lies approximately convert|45|km|mi|0 north-east of Lubliniec and convert|82|km|mi|0|abbr=on north of the regional capital Katowice.

The gmina covers an area of convert|127|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 9,583 (out of which the population of Woźniki amounts to 4,410, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 5,173).
