Hiram B. Granbury

Hiram B. Granbury (March 1, 1831 – November 30, 1864) was one of the six Confederate generals killed at the Battle of Franklin during the American Civil War. The son of a Baptist minister moved to Waco, Texas, in the 1850s. He was captured at the
Battle of Fort Donelson, but was freed in an exchange of prisoners in August 1862. He fought in the Vicksburg Campaign and at Chickamauga, the Battle of Missionary Ridge, and distinguishly at the Battle of New Hope Church.

On November 30, 1893, his body was moved to Granbury, Texas, a town named after him.
