"Roughness and Toughness" was an album released in 2003 by Graveslime, an Icelandic heavy metal band. "Roughness and Toughness" was their debut work as well as the last one, since the group had disbanded before the record went to the streets.Recorded by Tim Green at Studio Veðurstofan, Reykjavík, the mix was carried out at Green’s Louder Studios located in San Francisco. John Golden worked in mastering and J. J. Golden added additional recordings and edition.

In this album references to Mogwai, Primus and Nirvana, among others can be found and it features a rock-oriented style for "Chariots of Fire" that counteract the mild old version.
Guðlaugur Kristinn Óttarsson, (a.k.a. Godkrist) contributed to this album adding guitars in "American Sleeper".
