- IT Metrics and Productivity Institute
The IT Metrics and Productivity Institute is a consortium of world-wide experts that is dedicated to the creation and dissemination of best practice standards in the IT and software industry. The Institute focuses primarily on the areas of software development methodologies, software maintenance methodologies, software project management, software risk management, software estimation, and the science and practical application of software measurement. The Institute receives funding and support from CAI, an international information technology outsourcing and solutions firm.
Institute members publish material, speak at world-wide seminars, and conduct on-line education which is free of charge to the IT community. Early members of the consortium have included Michael Milutis (Founder and Executive Director), Ed Yourdon, Capers Jones, and Dr. Tom Love. There are currently over 100 experts world-wide who contribute to the Institute, including directors and CMMI lead appraisers from the Software Engineering Institute, technology entrepreneurs, SPIN (software process) directors, and software engineering researchers.
