AirportWatch was formed in 2000.
In the run-up to the 2007
Camp for Climate Action nearHeathrow Airport BAA sought a wide-ranging injunction which could have 'banned millions' by naming AirportWatch as an injunctee [cite web|title=Catch-all Heathrow protest injunction could bar millions|url=http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2007/jul/27/climatechange?gusrc=rss&feed=11|accessdate=2007-12-27|work=The Guardian |date=2007-07-27 ] which became know as the 'mother of all injuctions' [cite web|url=http://www.newstatesman.com/200708130002|title=The mother of all injunctions|author=Robbie Gillett|work=New Statesman |accessdate=2007-12-27] .
