Khanqah Dogran

Khanqah Dogran is city in the Nankana Sahib District in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

It is located at 31°49'54N 73°37'23E [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/PK/4/Khangah_Dogran.html Location of Khangah Dogran - Falling Rain Genomics] ] on the Sargodha to Sheikhupura Road, fifteen miles west of Farooqabad. The main industry in this area is automobile manufacturing. After Nankana Sahib became a District, Khanqa Dogran and Safdarabad have both been included as cities of the new district of Nankana Sahib.

Khanqah Dogran was formerly part of the Sheikhupura District; upon the creation of the district in 2005 there were five days of protests in the town, whose residents opposed inclusion in the new district. Etymology

The word "khnqah" means graves so "khanqah dogran" means "graves of dogars"Fact|date=October 2008

Dogars

Dogars reside in this area, and possess it. Now there are two branches of the Dogar family, Mian Dogars and Sardar Dogars. Both are active in politics. Mian Mushtaq Dogar, ex MPA PPPP, and Muhammad Abad Dogar, ex Voice Chairman Dist. Council Sheikhupura and President PML(N) are prominent members of these families. Sardar Abad Dogar and Mian Mushtaq was very active against the attachment of Khanqah Dogran to the Nankana Sahib district.

Road Link

Khanqa Dogran is on the Sheikhupura-Sargodah Highway Road, which connects Sheikhupura, Farooqabad, Khanqa Dogran and Sargodah. This is the main transportation route between the cities. In October, 2007, the Punjab Government planned to connect Khanqa Dogran with Motorway(M-2) with an interchange. The Date was approved and work has begun.When this project is complete, it will reduce the distance between Lahore and Khanqa Dogran.
