Najib Balala (Ar. نجيب بلعلاء > Cl.Ar. أبا العلاء) (born 20 September 1967 in Mombasa) is a Kenyan politician. He is the Tourism Minister and a M.P. from Mvita Constituency.[1][2]

Early life and education

Balala graduated from Kakamega High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the United States International University.[3]

Politics

Balala began his political career as the mayor of Mombasa, Kenya.[3]

He also served at various times as Minister for Gender, Sports Culture and Social Services, Minister for Labour and Minister of State for National Heritage. He won the African Tourism minister of the year. He is currently the Minister for Tourism.[3]
