Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire , USA, is a convert|2723|acre|km2|lk=on|sing=on state park located on and aroundLittle Monadnock Mountain , containing a convert|16|acre|m2|sing=on stand of native "Rhododendron maximum ", the largest of nineteen similar stands in central and northernNew England , the northern limit of their growing range.The
rhododendron s bloom in mid-July, and were designated aNational Natural Landmark in 1982. The park also includes wild blueberries, cranberries,mountain laurel , heathers, mayflower, andwintergreen .The park is open to
hiking andpicnicking , but pets are not allowed. A short loop trail navigates the stand of rhododendron, and the convert|110|mi|km|sing=onMetacomet-Monadnock Trail passes over the summit of Little Monadnock Mountain in the center of the park.References
