- Kanamycin kinase
In
enzymology , a kanamycin kinase (EC number|2.7.1.95) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :ATP + kanamycin ADP + kanamycin 3'-phosphate
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are ATP and
kanamycin , whereas its two products are ADP andkanamycin 3'-phosphate .This enzyme belongs to the family of
transferase s, specifically those transferring phosphorus-containing groups (phosphotransferase s) with an alcohol group as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is ATP:kanamycin 3'-O-phosphotransferase. This enzyme is also called neomycin-kanamycin phosphotransferase.tructural studies
As of late 2007, 7 structures have been solved for this class of enzymes, with PDB accession codes PDB link|1J7I, PDB link|1J7L, PDB link|1J7U, PDB link|1L8T, PDB link|1ND4, PDB link|2B0Q, and PDB link|2BKK.
