American Pie (franchise)

The "American Pie" film series is a teen comedy film franchise. Produced by Universal Pictures, the series started with the 1999 film "American Pie", which led to two film sequels and three more direct-to-video spin-offs.

The spin-offs

The "American Pie Presents" films are direct-to-video spin-offs of the American Pie movies. The series are written by one of the writers of the original series, Adam Herz with Erik Lindsay co-writing ' and ' and Brad Riddell co-writing '. With Erik Lindsay writing ' and ' the cast of ' reunites in the more recent "". The films tend to involve members of the Stifler family, with Stifler-esque manners and philosophies, with the exception of The Naked Mile's Erik Stifler, who was introduced as a virgin. Eugene Levy has appeared in all films as Noah Levenstein, Jim's father, since the original series but under unique circumstances.
