St. Helena is a village in Cedar County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 86 at the 2000 census.

Geography

St. Helena is located at coor dms|42|48|44|N|97|15|2|W|city (42.812132, -97.250497)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 86 people, 37 households, and 26 families residing in the village. The population density was 204.5 people per square mile (79.1/km²). There were 38 housing units at an average density of 90.3/sq mi (34.9/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 100.00% White.

There were 37 households out of which 29.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.9% were married couples living together, 2.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.7% were non-families. 29.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.88.

In the village the population was spread out with 24.4% under the age of 18, 2.3% from 18 to 24, 24.4% from 25 to 44, 31.4% from 45 to 64, and 17.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 95.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $41,875, and the median income for a family was $46,563. Males had a median income of $26,667 versus $16,806 for females. The per capita income for the village was $18,394. None of the population and none of the families were below the poverty line.
