Thika High School is one of the oldest high schools in
Kenya . Thika High school, also referred to as 'Hae', was built in colonial Kenya by thePresbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA). it was originally set at the site of the current Thogoto teachers college, but due to its proximity with another PCEA boys school, Alliance Boys', it was moved toThika . The school is known for its academic and sports excellence from its foundation to the mid '90s. Notably, it was ranked 18th nationally in 1994 but since then it rapidly plummeted and has not been ranked for over a decade now.Notable alumni
The alumni (old boys recently referring to themselves as mangaa za Hae) are very strongly attached to their school and have excelled to great heights around the world. Notable figures include justice Emmanuel Okubasu, Hon. Paul Muite (MP), Dr. George Njoroge (Schering Plough, NJ, USA), Karis Henry Ndederu (Musician, California), Prof. H. Thairu (JKUAT) among others.
