- DCTP deaminase (dUMP-forming)
In
enzymology , a dCTP deaminase (dUMP-forming) (EC number|3.5.4.30) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :dCTP + 2 H2O dUMP + diphosphate + NH3
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are
dCTP and H2O, whereas its 3 products aredUMP ,diphosphate , and NH3.This enzyme belongs to the family of
hydrolase s, those acting on carbon-nitrogen bonds other than peptide bonds, specifically in cyclic amidines. The systematic name of this enzyme class is dCTP aminohydrolase (dUMP-forming). This enzyme participates inpyrimidine metabolism .tructural studies
As of late 2007, 3 structures have been solved for this class of enzymes, with PDB accession codes PDB link|2HXB, PDB link|2HXD, and PDB link|2HXE.
