"Head Music" is the fourth album by Suede, released by Nude Records in 1999. The album was the first of the band's without producer Ed Buller. Instead, they brought in Steve Osborne to give the sound a more modern and electronic vibe, which the album most certainly has. All of the tracks were produced by Osborne except "Elephant Man", which was Recorded, Mixed and Engineered by Bruce Lampcov. According to the Suede biography "Love and Poison", this was because Osborne had a deep hatred of the song.

To promote the album, Virgin Megastores across the UK changed its name to "Head Music" the day the album was released.

The album is also notable for being the first Suede album to have a title track, and is also the first Suede album to contain a song not written or co-written by singer Brett Anderson, Neil Codling's "Elephant Man".

Commercially the album was a moderate success, and had generally mixed reviews from both fans and critics alike. It was the third album by the group to chart at number one in the U.K. [ [http://www.theofficialcharts.com/search.php The Official UK Charts Company: Search Results] .]

According to Nielsen SoundScan, "Head Music" has sold about 26,000 copies in the U.S. as of 2008. [Caulfield, Keith. [http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/ask_bb/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003855686 "Ask Billboard: Blue Suede Shoes"] . billboard.com. Sept 26, 2008]
